October 1 Security Alert Lifted

US Embassy Nigeria advises all American citizens that the strong recommendation to remain at home or other safe haven has been lifted.  All American citizens would, however, be well advised to minimize any unnecessary movements for the remainder of the day.  At this point in time, the Embassy’s Regional Security Office anticipates that the situation will likely return to normal by Saturday.  Please monitor news reports and your warden messages to stay apprised of the situation and remain alert to your surroundings.
