This warden message is being issued to inform American citizens in Nigeria about an ongoing violent confrontation in Panshekara, Kano State. Panshekara is located west of Kano city. There are reports of fierce fighting between members of the Nigerian Armed Forces and hundreds of militants. Reports include fatalities on both sides. American citizens are therefore urged to avoid this area and to take any necessary security precautions.
We continue to advise all Americans to review their security procedures, remain vigilant to their surroundings, and report specific incidences of targeted violence to the U.S. Embassy in Abuja or the U. S. Consulate General in Lagos at the numbers below.
