The following items are not permitted on the premises of the United States Embassy or Consulate:
Weapons of any kind or size, sharp metal or glass objects, razor blades, liquids, bottles, powdery substances, umbrellas and electronic or battery-operated equipment (including cell phones, radios, tape recorders, cameras, personal digital assistants, computers). If you have any of these items, you will not be permitted to enter the facility.

F-1 Visa Notice

  • Notice to Students Applying for F-1 Visas

    Due to the high demand for appointments, it is not always possible to secure an appointment prior to the start date on your I-20 form. In this case, please contact your school and request permission to arrive at a date after your scheduled appointment.

    Be sure to request from the school, official confirmation of this change in writing, and bring that document with you to your interview.
