American Corner Bauchi Celebrates World Aids Day

The American Corner Bauchi joined the rest of the world to celebrate World AIDS day. The program targeted teenagers who are venerable to the disease and included female students from Federal Government girl’s schools. Speakers from the Specialist Hospital Bauchi and the Society for Family Health discussed HIV/AIDS; modes of transmission and prevention. Presentations were followed by a drama presentation, dance and music display as well as the presentation of educational materials donated by the Society for Family Health. The American Corner showed a film FASO FIGHTS AIDS to the participants.
The program increased HIV/AIDS awareness and sensitization in vulnerable populations who can in turn be peer educators, encouraged use of the Bauchi American Corner which includes a collection of books on HIVAIDS.
