U.S. Ambassador Robin Renee Sanders’ Delivers Keynote at Isaac Moghalu Foundation Leadership Lecture
Date: April 23, 2008
Venue: Lagos
U.S. Ambassador Robin Renee Sanders delivered a keynote address at the first Isaac Moghalu Foundation Leadership Lecture in which she listed what a Lagos based independent radio station described as the “US government efforts at alleviating food crisis and eradicating poverty in Nigeria”. The occasion provided the opportunity for Ambassador Sanders to describe the various financial and material commitments of the U.S. government agencies to the political, social and economic development of Nigeria.
As Ambassador Sanders said, “investing in people” is the centerpiece … the pillar…of the United States’ partnership with Nigeria to alleviate poverty. With this focus, Ambassador Sanders explained that the various US government agencies in partnership with their Nigerian counterparts focus on issues from education to healthcare to agricultural development for the overall goal of fighting poverty.
The Isaac Moghalu Foundation is a non-profit charitable organization established to support access to education in underprivileged rural communities in Nigeria, the development of human capital, and to promote social change
