Vice Consul Highlights the Role of American Women in Politics in Ibadan

Vice Consul Brandi James spoke at an interactive session to mark Women History Month on March 29, 2007 at American Corner, Ibadan, Oyo State. Vice Consul James highlighted the role of American women in politics and how women’s involvement in the political arena has served as empowerment in other avenues. She also noted five of the ten women honored by Secretary Rice during the first International Women of Courage Award ceremony held on International Women’s Day, demonstrating the different struggles women have and how women can be agents of positive change in their communities.
