The United States Naval Forces Europe Africa Band performed at the Titsall Global Schools, the Government Girls Secondary School, Bwari and at the Chief of Mission’s Residence for a more general audience.  The Titsall event which was the first of seven performances brought together about ten primary schools within Abuja municipality, while the Bwari outing had secondary schools from within the Bwari Area Council attending.

At the school events, the Band played different tunes including the popular “Stars and Stripes Forever.”  The Chief of Mission’s Residence performance was more versatile with performances including the Beatles’ “Ruby Tuesday”.

The high points of the performances at the two schools was when the Conductor, Staff Sergeant Michael Maschmeier invited little Ms. Gloria Orji at the Titsall school to conduct the Band, and at the Government Girls Secondary, lucky Ms. Lola was privileged to conduct the Band.

The Principal of the Government Girls Secondary School, Bwari thanked the United States Mission for the cultural exchange between young Nigerians and the United States, emphasizing that such programs create friendships and better understanding.
