As part of her ongoing effort to ensure the highest level of customer services are afforded to U.S. visa applicants in Nigeria, U.S. Ambassador Robin Renee Sanders toured the VFS Global USA-Visa Center on February 11 to see first-hand the benefits of the partnership with VFS Global in a program that has already provided more convenient, secure, and user-friendly services to those applying for U.S. visas in Nigeria just three months into the one-year pilot project.
During her visit, Ambassador Sanders highlighted that “this new system has allowed more people to book appointments and complete applications themselves – in a transparent way – without paying costly fees to a visa tout to do this for them." By giving each person an opportunity to book an appointment and receive a secure and unique receipt number, the new system has increased transparency and opened up more appointment opportunities for legitimate visa applicants.
Among the services provided by VFS Global are: (1) a user-friendly and secure on-line way to make visa appointments using the VFS website; (2) a Call Center to answer applicants’ questions about booking appointments and the visa application process; and (3) a downtown location and expanded hours for visa pick-up
Detailed instructions on the visa appointment process are available at the U.S. Mission Nigeria web site: http://nigeria.usembassy.gov/. To make a visa appointment, go to the VFS website at www.usa-vfsglobal-ng.com and for questions about the visa application process, contact the VFS Call Center at 01-463-1363 or on-line at infousnigeria@vfshelpline.com
