PRESS RELEASE

US Embassy Warns General Public On Employment Fraudsters

May 23, 2006

The United States Mission in Nigeria would like to warn the general public on the activities of individuals falsely presenting themselves on the Internet and other sources as representatives of the American Embassy Human Resources Section.

These individuals, including one Dr. Martin Bruce and Austin Abulosoro based in Accra Ghana, are deceiving people with false promises of employment with the American Embassy in Abuja, using websites: usemapplication@netscape.net, everformatin@yahoo.com, and austine.abulosoro@standartrustghana.com.

Some of the telephone numbers used to perpetrate this criminal act are: Nigeria: 0803-790-6437, 0805-418-6887 and Ghana: 233-21-683526-30, and 233-21-685571. This type of fraud and misrepresentation has been on-going since 2003.

The general public should be very wary of anyone with above names or any other names and telephone numbers offering them appointments on behalf of United States Embassy in Abuja as these individuals are fraudsters.
