Jazz Appreciation Month Web Page Now Online
(Web portal offers jazz resources, overview of New York jazz scene)

Washington -- Each April, the United States celebrates Jazz Appreciation Month, honoring a major American contribution to world culture. Jazz month aims to focus public attention on the many talented composers, musicians and other contributors to the music.

The State Department's Bureau of International Information Programs has created a Web portal featuring articles on jazz, including an overview of the New York Jazz scene.
